When it gets hot, my Eye Cream skin becomes dry. I know spring is coming, a time to enjoy cool weather, beautiful nature and adventure. But for me, and I imagine for some of you, spring is a time for eczema flare-ups (just like those pesky fall flare-ups). This is because our skin changes with the seasons, but our skin takes some time to adapt. Some cope, but others will suffer from eczema before their skin calms down.
In winter, I usually use creams to moisturize my skin, but since it’s warm, I have to switch to lotions because I have combination skin, and it dries out my skin a little.
Valentia Skin Care offered me the True Glow Eye Cream and Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask in exchange for a review. I was curious about the mask and if it would help keep my skin soft and hydrated. Valentia Skin Care uses all-natural ingredients with protective, preventive and corrective properties.
Valentia True Glow Eye Cream
The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the clear brown sealable pump. I like the idea of seeing how much product there is, as opposed to plastic-sealed pumps.
The eye cream has an orange colour and a slightly creamy consistency that is quickly absorbed into the skin.
Valentia describes the True Glow Eye Cream ($25), saying it can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, nourish and hydrate, tighten the under-eye area, brighten dark circles, and reduce puffiness.
It contains antioxidants proven to improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles, such as vitamin C and astaxanthin, as well as organic rosehip oil.
I’ve been using this cream for three weeks, twice a day, and I love how it absorbs quickly into the skin, so I don’t have to wait long before applying makeup. It also works well under makeup, so no sticky concealer.
After three weeks, I noticed that the area under my eyes became more toned and less tired. Luckily, I have very few wrinkles under my eyes, and the Valentia eye cream seems to have managed to reduce them.
I was hoping this would lighten my dark circles, but unfortunately, it didn’t. I know that the dark circles under my eyes are very severe, and I may have to use them longer. Anyway, for best results, I also use InstaNatural Youth Express Eye Serum underneath.
My thoughts
I love how my skin feels soft and supple after using this cream. I’ve noticed that I wake up with brighter eyes even if I stay up late (although I don’t recommend that!).
As I mentioned above, I was hoping to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes but didn’t, but I love how it brightens up the eye area. However, it does a good job of protecting the eye area thanks to its antioxidants.
It is alcohol, paraben and cruelty-free.
Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask
The Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask ($25) is designed to treat dry skin. You can also use it to supply your skin with antioxidants and collagen-boosting ingredients.
Contains Japanese Green Tea, Aloe Vera, Organic Rosehip Oil, & Hyaluronic Acid.
Aloe vera and hyaluronic acid are two moisturizing factors that provide moisture to your skin and retain it in the skin. That’s why this mask is called plump. These ingredients help restore your skin from the inside out.
Green tea, aloe vera and amino acids have anti-aging properties and help improve skin elasticity.
These ingredients work together to reduce fine lines and hydrate the skin.
I usually exfoliate my skin 1-2 times using the Azure Naturals Ultimate Ocean Mineral Mask; it cleanses my skin and helps me control my sebum production. So, I decided to use the Valentia Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask afterwards to hydrate my skin.
The mask has a gel-like consistency, smells pleasant and is easy to apply.
The instructions say it may cause a slight tingling sensation, and it does. However, as described, it is “minor” and nothing serious.
To remove this mask, you will need a damp cloth and warm water. I’m used to washing my face after using masks, so this is a little different, but I found that gel masks are easier to remove. You can use a portion of clean cloth, a towel or a cotton pad.
My thoughts
Containing ingredients like green tea, aloe vera, and hyaluronic acid, this mask can be an excellent moisturizer. I like to use it after exfoliating my skin for better results because exfoliation removes all the dead cells and opens the pores, which allows the mask to penetrate deeper into my skin.
The only thing I’m not used to is using a cloth to remove the mask; I always prefer to wash my face to remove the mask; other than that, I love Valentia’s Ultra Plumping Hydration Mask and how it leaves my skin soft and hydrated.
